Cushing is a major storage terminal with about one-fifth of the nation's crude storage capacity (excluding that of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve).
About one-third of Oklahoma's natural gas production is consumed within the state. The remaining supply is sent on to Kansas, Texas, Arkansas and Missouri. More than twice as much natural gas flows out of Oklahoma each year as flows into the state.
Oklahoma ranked fifth in crude oil production and fourth in natural gas production in the nation in 2013 (excluding federal offshore areas).

Allows for the statewide use of conventional motor gasoline.
Requires permits and surety for oil and gas well drilling. The permit fee is $175. Surety bonds are generally $25,000 for one or more wells.
